  1. FINOO followers suffered haevy losses on favourites Ikaria, Flying spirit, and Real Dream - three heavily-backed favourites - on last Sunday. On this Saturday also FINOO horses have knucled under - two of them piping hot favourites Graces and Weizhou. Has time come to say goodbye to FINOO? I for one would follow Prakash's advice re. jockies who suffer a fall - I shall resume betting on FINOO horses after some FINOO horses start winning. Till then, so long FINOO!

  5. Dear FINOO mates,
I have known PG Sir closely for the last decade and I can say that without doubt that his handicapping skills are based on extraordinary research and hard work. FINOO is one of the trial techniques for public review and probably not met with great success as one would have expected. This does not mean end of the road and Iam absolutely confident that my GURU will bounce back hard with bigger success and let us not allow ordinary souls with little knowledge throw criticism irrationally.-RAVI SHANKER HYDERABAD

  7. Dear Rajendra Kumar & Lakshimkanth,
I can understand your feelings, but as I have said earlier, the public trial is a phase of data-collection about FINOO's performance, and changing rules of the game midway would be dishonest. The call on What needs to be done--either further fine-tune FINOO or to discard it as a worthless system, would be taken ONLY after 100 bets are logged in. Thanks for expressing your thoughts, however.

    Dear KN Kumar & Anonymous,
You must understand that the disappointment expressed by FINOO's followers is real, there is nothing personal about it. And the points they have raised are valid. Any system that started with such a bang will have to come in for criticism if it logs in such an incredible series of failures. Thanks anyway for your comments.

    Dear Ravi Shanker (Hyd),
Thank you for your nice words. But try to understand most people are reacting to a system's performance. Please do not confuse it with a personal attack on me.

Yes there may be a one or two stray cribbers who have been taking wisecracks at this blog, but they have been eternal cribbers and fault finders, so let them follow their "Dharma", you don't worry. And I can always take care of them when I choose to. So Relax.

    Dear Naren,
    Thanks.

  9. Three more losers at Pune on Sunday! Can we say R.I.P. FINOO? I don't believe so. The problem is with racecourses and not with the system. It is my firm belief that Bangalore is the racecourse in India with the fairest racing, and therefore FINOO would work for followers of form like PG in Bangalore.
Till mid-2008, RWITC also had a reputaion for relatively fair racing but from Pune 2008 season, RWITC has also 'gone bad'. PG trying FINOO in Hyderabad and Mysore is never bever going to work - these two centres which went to the dogs long ago from perspective of fair racing. Form does not work in Hyderabad, Mysore, Ooty, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi.
Until such time RWITC authorities are turning a blind eye to machinations of certain owner/breeder/operator lobbies, I would recommend that PG should focus on Bangalore only. However, it is his call to make.

  12. Dear Neelaghoda & AK,
    Thanks.

    Dear Rajendra,
Let me first explain how I think an individual should view his attraction for horse racing.

If we enter this sport only as horse or race lovers, we have all the reasons to feel frustrated if we come across malpractice. If we enter as just handicappers, trying to solve the racing puzzle as a purely intellectual pursuit, we will be justified in feeling disheartened, or even angry, when we suspect malpractice. But when we enter this sport as gambler/investor, our reaction to suspected malpractice (although quite natural) is pure waste of energy, and the sooner we make allowance for that in our betting decisions, better off we will be. For a gambler, the so-called malpractice is just one more obstacle to overcome which will slash some % of your strike rate. That's the reason you will NEVER find me cribbing or blaming a professional for my losing bet. As gambler, if I fail to predict malpractice it should rightly cost me a some loss, and it does. I can only blame myself for not being smart enough to see through it BEFORE the race.

    Thanks for your comment, however.

  13. Malpractice is bound to creep in whereever big money is involved whether a temple or a racecourse..
