  5. Praksh , Here we go again, I fancy Lone Monarch , The 4th race has too many contenders, Versaki has done nothing wrong, it however does not show the fitness that is required from a horse of that caliber, If you were giving your Lay bets , That may be the one I feel, here is the Bombshell , I feel Wahy will run a good race, Its is at least a place bet for me.

  9. WHY HIGHLAND BOUNTY CANNOT WIN TODAY?
FINOO did well at beginning of the Pune season. However I feel FINOO may not do well going forward. The reason is the trend which emerged in 2008 Pune season - it wasn't merit of horses which decided the outcome of a large no. of races but it was the divvying up of races amongst owners.
We all saw ample evidence of this race no. 45 in this season - Harmonica could have won the race but was deliberately alerted to the task when the race was already in the safe-keeping of Sea Star! Certain no. of races have to be given to Mr Wadhawan by the breeders else this owner may leave the sport(!) Coming to today's card, Prakash you have picked out Highland Bounty on merit but merit is only one part of Pune racing. Now, if race nos. 3 (Highland Music) and 7 (Sea Ruler) in today's card have been ear-marked for Mr Wadhawan, how can he be given race no. 4 also? So, merit must bow before machinations and Highland Bounty must lose today. It also means that FINOO's success going forward will come from 'open' races and not from set-pieces.

  10. Correction.
Race nos 3 and 4 have been marked for Mr Wadhawan. I missed Sea Treasure in race no. 4, which also belongs to Mr Wadhawan. Will they allow Highland Bounty to beat Sea Treasure? Doubtful.
Race no. 7 may turn out to be 'open', though Mr Wadhawan's diet (prescribed by the bredders' club) has to include a few trophy races in addition to handicap races!

  11. Dear Nambiar,
Somebody by the name Aluwalia tried to promote this blog suddenly yesterday. And since it smelt like "self-promotion", I told my Blog Moderator to put up Aluwalia's blog on the Toolbar blog-list so that those interested can have a one-click access to the same.

However, now your post here raises more questions than it answers:
    a. How do you know this blog is started by Mr Rajgopal Nair? Are you RN & impersonating as Nambiar here?
    b. On some other blog, similar promotion is done by Rajan Nambiar (which, incidentally, phonetically is similar to Rajgopal Nair), so does that mean you, Rajan Nambiar, Aluwalia & Rajgopal Nair are one and the same person?
    c. Rajgopal Nair's blog tossed all rules of decency out of the window when he wrote his final post on the Destiny Calling blog, for which so far he has not given any explanation. He is, as far as I am concerned, surely a "persona non grata" in the cyberspace, and at least I (or my toolbar) is NOT going to knowingly promote someone who has the kind of record Mr Nair has.

So, now unless Eagle Eyes (as the poster on that blog signs) or you come clean about all these issues, they deserve to be on the IGNORE list.

  12. Dear Rajendra Kumar,
I don't think I am really qualified to talk about the "machinations" that go on behind the scene in horse racing. Not that I think racing is all run by saints.

But I just presume it will take a percentage off my strike rate just like other factors. These factors being my handicapping mistakes, decision mistakes, luck of the race, lack of confidence or overconfidence, etc. And as gambler I MUST be able to make room for it, and still strive to make profit.

Take my sincere advice. As a gambler you will be much better off believing that racing is not that crooked, because it is REALLY not as much crooked as it gets credit for.

  13. Dear Prakash Gosavi,

    Good Morning,

My Laptop is corrupted by VIROUS beyond repair and I think I have to reformate it totaly.

This virus came when I was trying to down loaded a software. (Not Related To Horse Racing)

The Hightake Virus has spoiled my Laptop which is reparable & there fore nothing serious.

BUT I note the disturbing HUMAN VIRUS is trying to attack on your mind by their adverse comments repetadely. This is more & more serious for me.

Please use a strong antivirous ( i.e. Your Cool & Calm).

HATHI CHLE BAZAR KUTTE BHUKE HAZAR.

    With Regards.

  14. Mr Prakash,
I will ask you only one question.

If you want to write anonymous post, do you select any resembling names like Akash Gosavi, Prakash Solanki, Vikas Gosavi, Asavi Prakash etc. or any of your community surnames?

Nambiar, Menon, Nair, Pillai, Kurup, Panicker are surnames prevailing in our Nair Community?

I wont hurt my community or misuse my name for any selfish purpose. I think you got my point.

This type of negative publicity is given by a blogger from Bangalore.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I wish Mr Nair you had written using your blogger identity, then there would not have been any doubt about this post's identity.

Anyway, I am presuming you are Mr Rajgopal Nair, but you are not making clear IF you have started a new blog, if so, WHY change of decision, and of course, what was the reason for that vulgar last post on Destiny Calling which offended many visitors' sensibilities?

Your judgement in racing and identifying a person is excellent mr gosavi, hats off, i do remember this blog won2k....., and there was this comment from some parthiv addressed to mr rajgopal nair , there was no denail that the blog owner is not nair, meant that nair is the blog owner.
You are absoulutely right the way he treated his viewers on closing of his blog , he should be sagrigated from the bloggers community , and ignored by bloggers as well as viewers.
You have done the right thing by ignoring this guy great show .

  18. Prakash, Apropos my comment in the morning, I write with no malice and I write with humility.
I backed Shri Wadhawan's horses in race nos. 3(Highland Music), 4(Sea Treasure), and 7(Sea Ruler). Two winners and one narrow loss, though Dashrath Singh tried his best to restrain Cherokee in race no. 3, and not to forget Wayne Smith urged Messalina when See Ruler had established a commanding lead. Victory of merit or otherwise?

  21. Dear Cruising Away & Justificationdone,
Thanks for agreeing with my viewpoint.

    Dear Rajendra Kumar,
I am happy for you making money. But I still feel you will be better off taking out the so-called machinations from your own decision making process. At least, in the long run.

    Dear Whosefatheritanyway,
Yes. True. You had warned. Great prediction. Congratulations.
