Suraj Narredu wins at Mauritius

Suraj shines at Mauritius

Ace Indian jockey Suraj Narredu made his first assignment abroad a winning one. He won the penultimate race at the Mauritius racetrack today.

Today's card was slated by the Mauritius Turf Club as part of the International Jockeys Weekend Challenge for which Suraj was invited from India.

Suraj rode four horses on the eight-race card, winning one and narrowly losing two (one by a neck and the other by a short head). He won the Festival International Kreol Cup run over the mile trip astride a horse named Bourne Supreme.

The victory came about in a thrilling photo finish (see photo above) in the 7th race on the card, after Suraj finished a neck second in the opening race, and a short head second in the fifth race.
