Wise Charlie's words

FINOO Prime Bet for Bangalore, Sunday (July 26):
Way To Fantasy (3-9)
Good luck.
Circle of competence

Although several well-meaning people and followers had warned that it was meaningless to carry on FINOO Experimental bets & Bookies' Delights when FINOO Prime bets were giving such immense edge and profitability, I had nevertheless persisted with the Exp trial as I felt any experiment that was just begun should not be abandoned simply because the results were not as great as FINOO Prime bets.

However, neither any racing logic nor any consistency of strike rate is visible yet. True, barring WIN & PLACE bets category, which is showing substantial loss, the other two are not doing as badly--PLACE in fact is still shoing a decent 12% profit AFTER accounting for the Tote taxes. But all in all, the exercise seems to be heading nowhere, and is needlessly proving a distraction both for the inventor of FINOO and its followers.

Charlie Munger, legendary investor Warren Buffett's partner, once said that every successful person, or a sound theory, or a winning method has its own "circle of competence", and a wise man is one who not only knows its boundaries, but takes care to NEVER step out! I wish I had taken heed to his words.

But enamoured by FINOO's Prime bets' sensational success, I forgot wise Charlie's words of caution.

However, it's never too late to make amends. So, like the old days, let's only monitor FINOO Prime Bets from this day onwards and see, IF in the near future, this great time and labour saving system, which requires, on-an-average, only 3-hours a month of quality concentration time and minimal record keeping, can show us path to riches in this game where till date there is no credible long-term success story of a winning investor.

  3. Dear Anon & Anon#2,
For God's sake, take up SOME name! This is not a playground for the world's Anons.

Coming to your query Anonymous, both competency and competence are right, it's a matter of preference. I prefer competence.

  4. Gosavi good to see you are online. Pl answer one question. No one is tipping WTF in 123, how come you tip it as Finoo prime bet?

  5. Sorry Ron,

I was having my dinner so the delay in replying to your post.

As I have explained many times earlier, there is no point applying the so-called logic to FINOO choices. I have tried to do it myself and fell flat on face on most occasions.

FINOO is a system that governs itself by its own rules, does not even bother about the competition (rivals in the race), and still comes up trumps more often than not.

If, as you say, Way To Fantasy is NOT among the fancied runners as per the bookies' odds, so be it. FINOO does not care about what anyone (including the bookmaker) thinks about the race!

  7. It's a very wise decision. For those who want other tips you can give something like your midday tips separately. But pl don't confuse finoo bet followers.

  8. Hi Prakash Ji,

At last you have taken the right decision. Please concentrate on Finoo Prime bets only ( WIN & Place - No SHP).Everyone appreciate this and will continue doing so, if they get some good results following your suggestion. In fact, your Finoo prime bets can be followed blindly for profitable results. You have the competence to suggest good bets which is known to us.

    Thanks and regards.

  9. In honour of FINOO, I played Way to Fantacy for Place at 3/1. I would have made a few bucks too, but unluckily WTF just got pipped for 3rd place. Never mind. WTF's run proves that FINOO works.

  11. Thanks Sandykay, Neville & Aloke Dutta for writing in.

    Dear Rajendra Kumar,
I just watched the video. I think you were singularly unfortunate. WTF was a nose ahead half a meter before the winning post and half a meter after it too. It was only at the post that the verdict was against her. Better luck next time.

    Dear Ramesh,
You can click on the 'Past Articles' section monthwise. This way all articles posted in that month will feature in one vertical page.

There is another way to do the same thing. You could download my toolbar from link (one of the three links at the top of the page). On the toolbar, just besides my blog logo, there is an archives icon. If you take the mouse over it, you will automatically get a dropdown menu with all the articles listed chronologically (for each separate month). This way you have a choice to read whichever article you want.

I am gradually beginning to get the drift of the grain that your writing contains. I would sincerely request you to also make a thorough reading on how to pick season-end blues. There is a marked trend in it. S.K.Habib Khan won the penultimate race of Bangalore Winter this year, the only one he could contrive. That would have been handy for race-goers as it paid 5 to 1.

  14. At least continue with the Bookies Delight, if you dont want to stick your neck out for too many horses.
