Saturday races (May 16)

Bangalore Summer racing will begin at this picturesque racecourse from tomorrow where the sun and the clouds will play hide n seek for the first month. Watch the season unfold on our Toolbar TV. If you  haven't already downloaded our toolbar, do it now and check out the Toolbar TV for a never-before experience (Pic: Ravi, Bangalore)

For the opening day of the Bangalroe Summer racing season, there is only ONE horse on the FINOO list that figures in the race card.

Trillion Win (8-5)

a) Running at the same level (Terms Maiden, 3y)

b) Running over 100m extra (1200m from 1100)

c) Ridden by the same jockey (Harish)

Satisfies ALL conditions.

A WIN bet.

P.S.:

Horses struck off the FINOO list after last run: Orange Orchard (7-10)

And narrowly failed to make the FINOO list: Spandau Ballet (7-12)

Good luck.

Sunday (May 3) races

Once again, there is only ONE horse on the Sunday card that also figures in the FINOO list.

Devilitto (8-2)

a) Running at the same level (Class V. True, now runs among non-winners of this season, but even last time, all in the fray were non-winners this sesaon anyway)

b) Running over 200m extra (1400m from 1200)

c) Ridden by the same jockey (Imran Chisty)

Satisfies ALL conditions.

A WIN bet.

P.S.:

Horses struck off the FINOO list after last run: Up North (8-7)

And just failed making the FINOO list: Blade Runner (4-7)

Good luck.

Saturday (May 2) races

Notable Runner (Shammi Khan up) being led in by trainer Magansingh Jodha and son Adhiraj. My choice in the race, Pure Devotion, ran such a dismal race it was not sighted in the straight. [pic: rwitc archives]

Yet again, there is only ONE horse on the FINOO list which also figures on the Saturday card tomorrow. I wish the horse had run today (Friday), becasue it's his birthday today. Anyway, if he gives his connections and my followers some go at profit, I am sure we will not mind celebrating his birthday belatedly.

But will he oblige? Well, that question will be answered tomorrow (Saturday) after the 7th race on the card is run at 5.30 pm. Let's keep our fingers crossed, because he has to brave an almost 2-month absence from the racetrack.

Pure Devotion (7-8)

a) Running at the same level (5y & over in class IV)

b) running over the same trip (1400m)

c) has the same or better jockey (Samuel Fargeat who rode last time was not at all in any great form, 2 wins from 18 mounts; and Dasrath Singh who rides now has hit a useful "timely" form when he rode a back-to-back double on today's card. I don't have any hesitation in proclaiming him as "good or better than Fargeat" for this ride.)

Satisfies ALL 3 conditions.

A WIN bet.

P.S.: As I said yesterday, Curious No End has made a special request to publicly mention if any horses on the day's card have either been struck off the FINOO list last time or have just missed making the list. To honour his request, here I put them:

Struck off from the list after last run:

None

And just missed making the FINOO list:

Clarion Call (8-9)

Good luck.

Sunday races (April 26) Cond...

Golden Kingdom (in black shirt) finished a length second to Marine Zone who was, ironically, struck off the FINOO list only a week ago as per the qualifier conditions [pic: rwitc]

There are four horses from the FINOO ("Follow-In-Next-Outing-Only") list running on Sunday's card; they are:

Secret Agenda (1-7)

Golden Kingdom (4-2)

Smoking Aces (7-3) &

Born Special (9-9)

Secret Agenda:

a) Running at the same or lower level (ran in class V, 0-26; now running in same class, but at even lower level 0-19)

b) running over the same trip (1200m)

c) with inferior jockey? (Again, this call is difficult. Because SN Chavan who rode last time never had any form to speak of this season, so there may not really be much difference between him and Satish Nayak, who on occasions, rides quite well; but as usual, I will err on the cautious side).

Satisfies only 2 of the 3 conditions.

No WIN bet, strike off the FINOO list.

Golden Kingdom:

a) Running at the same level (Ran in class V last time, now actually in higher class IV; but the top rated horse in the race is at 32, only 6 points over last time’s class level, so more or less running at the same or similar level although the label technically says class IV)

b) running over the same trip (1200m)

c) with the same or better jockey (Again, apprentice NS Parmar who rode GK last time had scored a hat-trick of wins just a week before and was “regressing to the mean form”  with every ride thereafter. Today’s jockey AM Tograllu is attempting to regain form—his effort astride Forest Native today (who tried to renew his challenge at 200m against a superior horse) was good. and it indicates that he may be relied upon for a good effort from the saddle tomorrow.

Satisfies ALL 3 conditions.

WIN bet.

Smoking Aces:

a) Running at the same level (3y)

b) running over a +200m trip (1200m today from 1000 last time)

c) with the same jockey (YS Srinath)

Satisfies ALL 3 conditions.

WIN bet.

Born Special:

a) Running at the same level (Class IV)

b) running over a +200m trip (1800m today from 1600 last time)

c) with inferior jockey (From Daniel Grant to Dasrath Singh)

Satisfies only 2 of the 3 conditions.

No WIN bet, strike off the FINOO list.

So finally only two bets for the day: Golden Kingdom & Smoking Aces.

Good luck.
